WHO WE ARE

The inspiration for SidewalkGuides came on our travels when we had free time, but had no way to find a tour guide to show us around.  Even if we could have found one, the tours always seemed to be scheduled for times when we weren’t available.  And guidebooks didn’t go into the detail we were looking for.  We thought it would be great to know more about the places we were visiting, but to hire a personal guide (even if one was available) would be too expensive.

So SidewalkGuides was our attempt to make interesting tours easily accessible to those who live in one of our featured cities, or are just passing through.  Like a scholarly book will annotate its text with footnotes, we think about our guides as “annotating” the city by making it easy to learn the stories behind the statue or building you might see.
